A twelve-hour shift and a glass appointment do not fit into the same day, which is why so much of what we do around here happens in a parking lot while the owner is inside a building. It works well. The vehicle is standing still anyway, it is not in anyone's way, and the job is finished and cured long before the shift ends. All we need is access, the keys, and the location precise enough that we are not driving around a deck looking for a plate number.
Residential streets here are easier still, since driveways and garages are common and there is no barrier to negotiate. Wherever the vehicle is, the work follows the same sequence: cut the old pane out cleanly, prime any bare metal, lay fresh urethane, set the glass and let it cure for the stated time before it moves. Forward cameras are recalibrated where they exist. Broken tempered glass is vacuumed out of the door cavity and the cabin rather than brushed off the seat. Parking decks are the thing that decides whether a mobile visit here is simple or awkward. Some of the structures around the medical buildings have height limits our van will not clear, and some have staffed barriers that will not let an unexpected vehicle through. Both are easy to solve with information: the lot, the level, the bay number, the posted clearance and a name at the gate.
