Soundview windshields are a same-day job when the glass is on our rack, which covers most common cars and vans. Budget about half an hour of fitting, an hour of cure time, and $250 to $450 installed. If the crack is bad enough that driving worries you, we come to the car instead.

A lot of Soundview windshields arrive here already past saving. Somebody watched a chip for a season, the first cold snap arrived, and now there is a line running the width of the glass. Once a crack has travelled we are replacing rather than repairing, and there is no point pretending otherwise. What we can do is make the replacement quick and honest: check the rack, quote the number, and fit it the same day where possible.
The install itself is not glamorous work but it is where the job is won or lost. Old glass out without gouging the frame. Bare metal cleaned and primed so nothing rusts under the new seal. Fresh urethane, correct moldings and clips rather than the old ones cleaned up. Camera recalibration where the vehicle has one. Then a real drive-away time, not a guess. If something we did causes a leak or wind noise later, the lifetime workmanship warranty means it comes back in and gets sorted at no charge. Cash and comprehensive both get the same number at the counter, and where a claim is worth opening we file it from here rather than sending you off to do it. Nobody pays extra for choosing one over the other.
“Good work and honest shop, have been here a couple of times. Never had any problem or had to return to fix anything. One thing I noticed is that the common glass is kept on site, but uncommon glass is not. Was in and out in 30 mins for an…”

Work pickups are the vehicles we see most from this neighborhood, and their windshields take a specific kind of beating. A truck with a ladder rack sits higher, catches stone thrown off the Bruckner service roads at the worst possible angle, and collects damage in the upper third of the glass where the driver notices it least. Racks themselves are rarely a problem for us. What does slow a job down is a windshield-mounted toll transponder, dash camera or work light bar that has to come off and go back on, so mention any of that when you book. We also check the cowl and wiper area properly on trucks, because years of grit sitting under the cowl panel is how water finds its way in after a fresh install elsewhere.
Same service, same price, other Bronx neighborhoods:
Damage in the driver's field of view is what gets flagged, and a crack running across the wiper sweep is exactly that. Beyond the legal side, a cracked windshield gives up a large part of its structural strength, which matters in a rollover and for airbag support. If you are nervous about driving it here, say so and we will bring the glass to you.
Yes, provided there is a legal space with room to open both front doors and the weather is workable. There is no trip charge inside the Bronx. Curbside windshield work does need the car to stay put for the cure time afterwards, so we plan around alternate side days rather than getting caught by them halfway through.
