Castle Hill has two personalities and we work with both. North of Westchester Avenue, the Zerega Avenue corridor is a run of trade yards, body shops, tow operators and contractor lots, and the vehicles that come out of there are working trucks with hard miles on them. South of Bruckner Boulevard it turns residential quickly, all the way down to Castle Hill Point. A tow operator with a shattered door window has a different problem from a family whose back glass gave out, and we quote and schedule them differently.

Truck movement is what breaks glass around here. The yards along Zerega push heavy vehicles onto streets that were never built for them, and the pavement gives way at the aprons and driveway cuts, so there is loose stone in the gutter line year round. Tow trucks and flatbeds carry damage in from elsewhere and shed it here. On the residential side, the wind off the water in winter drives temperature swings that turn an ignored chip into a running crack overnight, particularly on cars that sit outside and then get a hot defroster in the morning. From the Zerega yards, take Castle Hill Avenue or Zerega Avenue north to Bruckner Boulevard and run west. From the residential blocks south of Bruckner, come up Castle Hill Avenue first. Either way you stay on the boulevard or the expressway across the Bronx River, exit at Hunts Point Avenue, and Garrison Avenue is a short turn from there. Figure ten minutes off-peak and fifteen in the thick of it. There are no parkway restrictions on that route, so a box truck or a flatbed can follow it the whole way. Yes, though a phone call first is worth the two minutes. If we know the vehicle and the pane, we can have the glass pulled and ready before the truck arrives instead of sending you away to come back. Shop hours are Monday to Saturday, 8:30 to 7. If we do not have your glass on the shelf we will say so on the call.
Rear glass on a pickup is a normal job for us, and a slider or a fixed pane both come out the same way. If a topper or cap is fitted over the bed it usually has to come off to get clean access, so allow a little extra time.
